Lost Stars || Lisa Selin Davis Guest Post

First of all, I want to say that I'm so excited for this book and happy to be a member of this Blog Tour. Today's guest Post is from Lisa Selin Davis, the author of Lost Stars.Thank you to Lisa for writing this post, and to Hot Key Books (especially PR Carmen!) for considering me for this tour.

He'res a little bit about the book: Carrie is lost. And she’s angry at almost everything and everyone. Most of all though, she’s angry at her big sister Ginny. For dying. Pretty much the only thing that keeps Carrie sane is her music. Even her beloved comet, the faithful friend that she’s been following for years, can’t help her now that her dad has taken away her telescope.Then she meets Dean. Gorgeous Dean. He’s sitting out on his front step playing guitar early one summer morning – and everything changes forever.

5 things you can’t write without

1. My laptop. I don’t even know if I can write by hand anymore. What’s a pen?
2. Ambient noise. Though I do a lot of work alone in my apartment, I often go to the coffee shop. I love the hum of people chatting, the whirr of the espresso machine, a minute of chit-chat with the barristas before I go back to typing. I can’t just stare at this machine all day!
3. Freedom software. There’s software that will turn off the internet on your computer. Yeah, fine, you can turn off wi-fi yourself, but if you turn it off with this software, you can’t turn it back on, for whatever amount of time you’ve designated.
4. A writers’ group. That’s right: I need other writers to write. Not necessarily at the time that I’m writing, sitting with me at a table at some café. But I need their feedback, their support, their criticisms and compliments.
5. Coffee. Even if it’s cold. Even if it’s just a prop. A promise of dark liquid, sitting there as inspiration. But better if it’s hot!
